What is IBSAT..?
The IBSAT (ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test) is a computer-based management entrance exam conducted by ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education. IBSAT: Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST categories) in aggregate.
- Final Year Students: Candidates appearing for the final year examination of their Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their graduation requirements by the specified date.
- Medium of Instruction: Proficiency in English is mandatory as the medium of instruction in IBS is English.
IBSAT: Admission Process
- IBSAT Registration: Candidates need to apply and register for the IBSAT exam on the official website by providing necessary personal, academic, and contact details.
- IBSAT Exam: After successful registration, candidates have to appear for the IBSAT exam, which typically consists of sections testing Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, and Data Adequacy & Data Interpretation.
- Selection Procedure: Candidates who clear the IBSAT cutoff are called for the selection process, which includes Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.
- Final Selection: The final selection is based on the candidate’s performance in the IBSAT exam, GD, PI, past academic records, and work experience (if any). Shortlisted candidates are offered admission to the MBA/PGPM programs at various IBS campuses based on their overall performance.
- Counseling and Admission: Selected candidates are then required to participate in the counseling process, where they are allotted seats in the respective campuses.

IBSAT: Counseling Process
- Shortlisting: Candidates who meet the cutoff scores set by the participating institutes are shortlisted for the next rounds.
- Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates might be invited for further rounds, which can include Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI), and/or Written Ability Test (WAT). These rounds aim to evaluate candidates’ communication skills, analytical thinking, and overall suitability for the program.
- Final Selection: Institutes participating in IBSAT release their final selection lists based on candidates’ performance in the entrance exam, as well as GD, PI, and WAT.
- Offer of Admission: Candidates who make it to the final selection list receive admission offers from the participating institutes. They might need to confirm their acceptance by paying a stipulated fee within a given time frame.
- Documentation and Verification: After accepting the admission offer, candidates are required to submit necessary documents for verification and complete any formalities required by the institute.
- Commencement of Program: The selected candidates join the MBA or PGPM program at the respective institutes on the specified date.
